Saffron Tea At the heart of Lumex is a hand-crafted saffron infusion. Saffron — gram for gram, one of the most valuable botanicals on earth — contains crocin and crocetin, two carotenoid compounds extensively studied for their ability to support photoreceptor health and retinal function. Research has shown saffron supplementation may help the eyes adapt to light more efficiently and preserve the cone cells responsible for color vision. We use saffron as a brewed tea to maximize the bioavailability of its active compounds from the very first drop.

2% Hyaluronic Acid At a concentration of 2%, our hyaluronic acid provides deep, lasting lubrication to the ocular surface — far above what most commercial drops offer. It cushions and hydrates without blurring your vision, creating the stable, comfortable foundation the eye needs to function at its best.

Castor Oil & Lecithin Together, these two ingredients support and stabilize your tear film's lipid layer — the outermost barrier that prevents moisture from evaporating. Castor oil has long been used in ophthalmic care to reduce dryness and surface inflammation, while lecithin acts as a natural phospholipid emulsifier that helps all the active ingredients work together harmoniously in the drop.

DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) What makes Lumex different from any other eye drop on the market is DMSO. A clinically recognized penetration enhancer, DMSO carries the active compounds in this formula deeper into ocular tissue than a standard drop can reach — helping saffron's light-supporting carotenoids get closer to where the retina actually needs them.
